Urbex – Blockhaus ML16-28

Abandoned blockhaus somewhere in France. Between the two world wars, France built a gigantic defensive structure called the “Ligne Maginot“. It was composed of a lot of bunkers and forts and was supposed to protect France of another German invasion. Unfortunately for them, History proved them to be wrong…

Urbex – Fort de la Chartreuse: Gallery update

I’ve updated the gallery of the Fort de la Chartreuse, as I went back to this old abandoned fort to show it to a friend of mine. It had already been a few years since my first visit there, and there were not much changes there, it’s just slowly decaying more and more…

Urbex – Château Rochendaal

Abandoned castle somewhere in Belgium. This is a well known urbex location. This castle was built in 1881 by a lawyer. Urbex – Zone Braams

Abandoned military communication center somewhere in Belgium. This base has been built in 1969, during the cold war and was used by the NATO. Urbex – EBTN

Abandoned military airfield somewhere in Belgium. This airfield was used as a training ground for the air cadets and has been abandoned for many years now. Part of it, mainly the airstrips, are now used by leisure civilian aviation. I’ll have to get back there one of these day…

It’s been built by the Dutch, and served as a german prison during WW1 and WW2. On the walls of some rooms, there are some paintings mad by soldiers, unfortunately, due to its state, the paintings are less and less visible.
