Abandoned church somewhere in Belgium. Except the fact that externally it looks well preserved, the interior of this church is a real mess. Additionaly to the usual vandals and the pigeon’s poop everywhere, the ground has been dug by archeologists. It is completely open, and an ancient tomb has been unearthed. Macabre detail: som human bones are lying above the grave…

Urbex – Château d’Ah
Abandoned castle somewhere in Belgium. What a wonderful exploration this was ! Not that there was still much things to see in this castle, but the architecture and the paintings on the walls were fantastic. Maybe the fact that the sun was shining that day was helping to give this castle a very serene atmosphere !
Urbex – Eglise du Solitaire
Abandoned church somewhere in Belgium. This is a beautiful church located in a small village. It’s been left abandoned because there were too few people still getting to this church. The last church service was held in 1980. In 1990, this old church has acquired a protected status. There were plans to make a cultural space out of it, but it seems it will never be done…
Urbex – Grand Hôtel Regnier
Abandoned hotel somewhere in Belgium. This luxury hotel has been built around 1904 and must have been really majestic in its time. I don’t know for how long it’s been left abandoned but probably for a long time looking at how decayed it is. One can easily imagine the magnificent receptions this hotel must have seen.
Urbex – Terres Rouges
Abandoned steel factory somewhere in Luxembourg. This is a well known place in urban exploration. This factory has been built in 1870 and was acquired by the société métallurgique des Terres Rouges in 1919. In 1997, the last furnace was shut down and the site was abandoned. A typical story for the european steel industry.

Urbex – Château Rochendaal
Abandoned castle somewhere in Belgium. This is a well known urbex location. This castle was built in 1881 by a lawyer. During World War two, the germans used it, they built an airfield and used it for the Luftwaffe. It was an important point in their strategy. After the War, the airfield was used by the belgian army, and the castle served as the officer’s mess. In 1996, the place was abandoned, but it is still part of a military domain.
Urbex – Dr Gentil
Abandoned house somewhere in Belgium. This was the house of a doctor and also his office. There was still a lot of things left in the house: furnitures, clothes, books. The office of the doctor contained a lot of medical stuff, and there was also a room used as a pharmacy, were a lot of medications were taking the dust…
Gallery update: Villa Cannaert
I’ve updated the gallery of the Villa Cannaert with some new pictures as I paid a new visit to this abandoned hotel/restaurant. The reason I went back there is that I’ve been told the hotel part was now accessible. As I hadn’t seen this part of it, I decided to go back and take some pictures of it.
Urbex – Cimenterie Delwart
Abandoned cement factory somewhere in Belgium. This old factory has been founded in 1926 and, from what I know, it’s been abandoned since 1962. I just know that at one time, it employed about 170 workers. The site is has several buildings built with old rocks and a big tower in bricks.
