Abandoned military communication center somewhere in Belgium. This base has been built in 1969, during the cold war and was used by the NATO. Except for the dome with the radar, there was not much left to see, only some empty rooms, as the place had only already been ripped off. Nevertheless, it’s not everyday that you get the chance to see a radar of this size ! All in all, a nice little exploration, but a bit frustrating…

Urbex – Maison Dholan
Abandoned house somewhere in Belgium. I know absolutely nothing of this house. I found this house with a friend of mine while riding to another urbex location. We passed in front of it and decided to stop and go look at it. Though the house in itself is quite empty, a nice little surprise was waiting for us !
Urbex – Schola CLXXV
Abandoned monastery somewhere in Belgium. This monastery has not been abandoned for long is incredibly preserved. There’s also a school attached to it. From what I’ve heard, the monastery will be rehabilited, though I don’t know what are the plans for it, but the school will be demolished. The chapel of the monastery is absolutely stunning and was well worth the visit !
Urbex -Lavoir Carbonisage D.
Abandoned wool factory somewhere in Belgium. This factory was used to wash the wool and prepare it through a carbonisation process. I don’t know much about this place. I think it must have been built in the beginning of the 20th century. It’s been abandoned about 25 years ago, and there are plans to renovate it into lofts, well at least back in 2009. Five years later, the renovation doesn’t seem to have gone far…
Urbex – SNCB Ronet
This is an abandoned railyard repair workshop somewhere in Belgium. This site had been abandoned in 1979, due to a very important gas explosion that killed one worker. One can still see the place where the explosion occured in the basement of the building. There’s not much left, the building is pretty empty but still a nice place to see.
Urbex – Station B.
Abandoned train station somewhere in Belgium. This is a very little station located in a small town. There wasn’t very much to see there, the place is quite empty and probably used by occasional squatters. I don’t know when neither why it’s been abandoned. You can still sit there on the platforms and do some trainspotting as trains are still passing by, but just don’t expect any of these to stop for you…
Urbex – Piscine Art Deco
Abandoned swimming pool somewhere in Belgium. This small swimming pool is a beautiful place built in an Art Deco style. I don’t know much about it, but it seems to have been part of a school complex which is being demolished at the moment. Fortunately, it seems that the swimming pool won’t be demolished.
Urbex – Grands Moulins de Paris
Abandoned industrial flour mill somewhere in France. This is a very impressive building built in the 20’s. This industrial flour mill has ceased its activities in 1989 and is now in a really bad state, making it a very dangerous place. On many levels the floor has collapsed leaving just a concrete skeleton. There are some rumours the place should be renovated, but who knows when…
Interstices by Quadri – Exhibition
I’ve been invited to show my photographic work about urban exploration by the Galerie Quadri for a short exhibition in Brussels. The exhibition will also feature jewelry works done by Florence Bourgeois.
Urbex – Villa Cannaert
Abandoned hotel/restaurant somewhere in Belgium. I visited this place early in the morning of a beautiful winter day. It was a luxury place, a four star hotel/restaurant if I believe the placard in front of the street. It has seen many well-known people, including the king of Belgium himself.
