Urbex – Clair de Lune

Abandoned wooden decor and furnitures depot somewhere in France. I’ve found this place by pure chance. I was with a friend and we were looking for an abandoned swimming pool, which we found but was unfortunately inaccessible, when we passed in front of an old industrial building along the roadside. Our curiosity pushed us to stop and go check it…

Many people ask me how I find abandoned places, well this is one of the way: driving on smaller road, avoiding highways, and being attentive to the surroundings. We didn’t knew what kind of place this was, and we were not sure if it was abandoned, though it looked like it was. When we entered the place, we saw that the roof was partially collapsed and a lot of wooden figures were lying on the ground and against the old brick walls of the building. Nature was already taking its course inside the building, and no doubt it will be a true jungle in a short time. There was not much to see there except for all the wooden figures and furnitures, it seemed that the place was used as a depot for imported stuff rather than a workshop. There was something quite sad to look at all these wooden works slowly decaying in this derelict building. I couldn’t help myself but think at all the hours of work to make these pieces that were lost for nothing. A real pity…
