An abandoned spinning mill somewhere in Belgium. Belgium was famous for its textile industry in the past. That was before all this industry relocate in Asia. I don’t know anything about this place, when was it built and why it’s been abandoned ? A friend of mine told me about this location, so I went there to see what was left of it.

Urbex – Brewery C
Abandoned brewery somewhere in Belgium. By chance, this little brewery has been totally preserved from vandalism. Looking at the exterior of this building, no one could imagine all the things that are still left untouched. All the machines are there, with a lot of other little things, like bottles. It was a very pleasant exploration to do !

Abandoned psychiatric hospital somewhere in Belgium. This hospital is not totally abandoned, there is still a part of it that is active. Unfortunately, some of the abandoned buildings were recently destroyed by a fire.
Urbex – Gravestone Church
Abandoned church somewhere in Belgium. Except the fact that externally it looks well preserved, the interior of this church is a real mess. Macabre detail: som human bones are lying above the grave…
Urbex – Château d’Ah
Abandoned castle somewhere in Belgium. What a wonderful exploration this was ! Not that there was still much things to see in this castle, but the architecture and the paintings on the walls were fantastic. Maybe the fact that the sun was shining that day was helping to give this castle a very serene atmosphere !
Urbex – Eglise du Solitaire
Abandoned church somewhere in Belgium. This is a beautiful church located in a small village. It’s been left abandoned because there were too few people still getting to this church. The last church service was held in 1980. In 1990, this old church has acquired a protected status. There were plans to make a cultural space out of it, but it seems it will never be done…
Urbex – Grand Hôtel Regnier
Abandoned hotel somewhere in Belgium. This luxury hotel has been built around 1904 and must have been really majestic in its time. I don’t know for how long it’s been left abandoned but probably for a long time looking at how decayed it is. One can easily imagine the magnificent receptions this hotel must have seen.
Urbex – Terres Rouges
Abandoned steel factory somewhere in Luxembourg. This is a well known place in urban exploration. This factory has been built in 1870 and was acquired by the société métallurgique des Terres Rouges in 1919. In 1997, the last furnace was shut down and the site was abandoned. A typical story for the european steel industry.

During World War two, the germans used it, they built an airfield and used it for the Luftwaffe. It was an important point in their strategy. After the War, the airfield was used by the belgian army, and the castle served as the officer’s mess. In 1996, the place was abandoned, but it is still part of a military domain.
