Urbex – Maison Clerckx

Abandoned house somewhere in Belgium. This wonderful house has been built around 1769 and is located in the woods. There are many legends about the first owner of this house, Mr Clerckx. It seems that during the 18th century, a band of outlaws was terrorizing the people in the neighbourhood. Mr Clerckx decided to get rid of these guys, and killed them one by one. Most of them were hung, but some dark stories say that he locked some of them in the basement of the house and let them starve to death…

Urbex – Maison Dholan

Abandoned house somewhere in Belgium. I know absolutely nothing of this house. I found this house with a friend of mine while riding to another urbex location. We passed in front of it and decided to stop and go look at it. Though the house in itself is quite empty, a nice little surprise was waiting for us !

Urbex: Villa Albert

Urbex – Villa Albert

Hidden in a wild garden, lies this beautiful house. It’s been incredibly well preserved and is still filled with a lot of furnitures. One can easily think that the owner of this villa has just left and will come back soon. The walls are filled with wooden panel behind which you can imagine there’s a hidden treasure. A really nice urban exploration ! Unfortunately for this house, the usual story begins: a real estate agent bought the place and will be demolishing the house to build luxury apartments. It seems that the greed of real estate agents is way stronger than their interest in architecture…

Urbex - Maison Romaine

Urbex – Maison Romaine

Abandoned house somewhere in Belgium. This was a wonderful exploration, mostly because everything was intact in the house, there were absolutely no traces of vandalism. There were furnitures and dishes were still on the kitchen table. The house in itself is a beautiful old country house. It is in a quite good state. I don’t know if there are plans for this house, let’s just hope it will be renovated and not left rotting.

Urbex - Chateau Amon Re

Urbex – Chateau Amon Re

The “Chateau Amon Re” is also a well known place in the urban exploration community. It is a beautiful castle in a very good state. There are absolutely no trace of vandalism (at least when I went there…). It’s been classified as a historic place, probably due to its architecture. I don’t know what are the plans for it, but when I explored it, it was of course still abandoned, and with no trace of renovation for the near future. Its nickname “Amon Re” comes from a room in the castle where the walls are covered with egyptians drawings.

Urbex – Chateau de Noisy

Also known as “Château Miranda”, this beautifuyl castle lost in the woods has been abandoned since the 90’s. It’s been used at a moment as a holiday colony for the children of the emplloyees of the belgian rail company. Unfortunately, this castle is in a really bad state actually, and will soon crumble if nothing’s done to save it.
