An abandoned swimming pool in Belgium. This swimming pool had been built for the workers of a nearby factory, and it closed shortly after the factory had closed. It is a very beautiful building, especially the stairs, which contains two floors. On the ground floor, there is the old swimming pool with the cabins. On the first floor there’s a theater with a stage which has still old curtains. There were plans to rehabilitate the building into a mosque, which explains the oriental tiles, but it seems the site work have been interrupted and the building is now left abandoned, half renovated.

Urbex – Hospice des vieillards
Abandoned hospice somewhere in Belgium. This old people home was build in the middle of the 19th century and is part of an hospital. It is no longer in use and most of it has already been demolished. All that is left of it is a few offices, a few patient rooms and the old chapel. There are plans in the future to build new buildings for the actual hospital, so it will be demolished soon. All in all, it was a very nice exploration.
Urbex – Centrale IM
Abandoned powerplant somewhere in Belgium. This powerplant is a well known urbex place. It is a very impressive location with a wonderful cooling tower next to it. This is a real industrial labyrinth, and one can spend hours in it. It has two old turbines and a newer one, so this powerplant has two control room. The older one, controlling the two old turbines, is an absolute beauty, that has unfortunately been heavily vandalized. This is a very dangerous place, mostly because copper thieves are very active in it, the kind of people you don’t really want to meet…
Urbex – Ecole Blaeps
Abandoned school somewhere in Belgium. This school must have been abandoned for a few years only, if not for a few months, because it is still visible occupied in street view on google maps. Except for the great number of graffitis covering its walls, it is still in a quite good state, and was a very interesting explore with a sport hall, and also a theatre with a stage.
Urbex – Usine Shelt
An abandoned factory somewhere in Belgium. This was a steel rolling mill. The main hall is really impressive with a width of 30m and a length of about 500m. It is a really quiet and peaceful place with a lot of vegetation. There’s a water basin which looks like an very big mirror. A very nice urbex location, even though the place is empty.
Urbex – Maison Romaine
Abandoned house somewhere in Belgium. This was a wonderful exploration, mostly because everything was intact in the house, there were absolutely no traces of vandalism. There were furnitures and dishes were still on the kitchen table. The house in itself is a beautiful old country house. It is in a quite good state. I don’t know if there are plans for this house, let’s just hope it will be renovated and not left rotting.
Urbex – Depot SNCB BLC
Abandoned railway depot somewhere in Belgium. This abandoned depot lies next to a station that’s still in use. I don’t know why it’s been abandoned, and there’s not much to see in it, just mother nature reclaiming its due…
Urbex – Villa Pesto
An abandoned house somewhere in Belgium. This was a very big house which must have been magnificent in its time. It has probably been used as a school or for giving conferences at a time but I’m not sure as I know nothing of its history. The house is actually for sale.
Urbex – Fort de la Chartreuse
This is an old abandoned fort in Liège, Belgium. It is freely accessible as the gates are wide open, and a lot of people take a walk in the area. It’s been built by the Dutch, and served as a german prison during WW1 and WW2. On the walls of some rooms, there are some paintings mad by soldiers, unfortunately, due to its state, the paintings are less and less visible.
Urbex – Theatre Varia
Abandoned theatre somewhere in Belgium. This is a small but beautiful theatre. I don’t know when it’s been built and for how long it’s been abandoned, but they had to repare the roof to prevent water infiltration. The stage is particularly beautiful with nice painting on the walls. Now it’s waiting for a new owner to open its doors again.
