This is an abandoned tannery somewhere in Belgium. It is a beautiful factory, but also a very dangerous one because it is full of asbestos. There were a lot of very interesting graffitis also. Fortunately for this place, they’re actively renovating it now, but I don’t know what they plan to do with it. A cultural center, a shopping mall or maybe appartments ? This is a real chance for this factory, because it would have been a real shame to demolish it.
Abandoned factory somewhere in Belgium. This was a boiler factory. Some parts of the buildings were used as parking for a bus company, which prevented me to explore much of the place.
This is an abandoned sport center. I don’t know much about it. There’s only one building, maybe there were others which have been demolished.
An old abandoned coalmine, there are only a few buildings left of it. Some buildings are still occupied, they’re used as warehouse by a construction material shop. Strangely, the buildings were used as a zoo at a certain time, but the zoo closed a few years later.
Abandoned coke factory. There really isn’t much left of it. It seems that they’re half demolishing, half reconverting the site. It’s now the playground of soft air players. This is one of the dirtiest place I’ve ever explored.
Also known as “Château Miranda”, this beautifuyl castle lost in the woods has been abandoned since the 90’s. It’s been used at a moment as a holiday colony for the children of the emplloyees of the belgian rail company. Unfortunately, this castle is in a really bad state actually, and will soon crumble if nothing’s done to save it.
This is an abandoned outdoor swimming pool. It is located in a leisure center, next to a lake where you can practice different nautic sports such as sailing. I think it has been built in the 30’s, but I don’t know for how long it’s been abandoned.
This hippodrome, deep in the woods, was abandoned in 2001. It has now been totally demolished so that nature can reclaim the place. A real shame that it hasn’t been reconverted as it was in really good state a few years ago.
This is a very well known industrial site in Belgium. The forges de clabecq are particularly known for the social fights that took place in the early 2000 when it was closed. Thousands of people lost their jobs. The site is now being demolished.
