Abandoned military airfield in somewhere in Belgium. A few months ago, I went back to this abandoned airfield for a second visit as the first one had been quite short, and I just noticed that I hadn’t updated the gallery yet with the new pictures. Now it’s done !
Urbex – Fort de la Chartreuse: Gallery update
I’ve updated the gallery of the Fort de la Chartreuse, as I went back to this old abandoned fort to show it to a friend of mine. It had already been a few years since my first visit there, and there were not much changes there, it’s just slowly decaying more and more…
Urbex – Château Rochendaal
Abandoned castle somewhere in Belgium. This is a well known urbex location. This castle was built in 1881 by a lawyer. During World War two, the germans used it, they built an airfield and used it for the Luftwaffe. It was an important point in their strategy. After the War, the airfield was used by the belgian army, and the castle served as the officer’s mess. In 1996, the place was abandoned, but it is still part of a military domain.

Nevertheless, it’s not everyday that you get the chance to see a radar of this size ! All in all, a nice little exploration, but a bit frustrating…

Abandoned military airfield somewhere in Belgium. This airfield was used as a training ground for the air cadets and has been abandoned for many years now. Part of it, mainly the airstrips, are now used by leisure civilian aviation. I’ll have to get back there one of these day…
